Love. Courage. Strength: Jackie and Nathan's Story

“Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. Love still stands when all else has fallen.”

I think the statement above sums up what Jackie and Nathan's all about.
Due to Jackie's father's health condition, their wedding date had to be moved earlier. Jackie has this admirable calmness and focus amidst all the shiftings and rearrangings. So, although the planning time was short, it was indeed lovely and sweet. Definitely a huge thanks to Jackie for her open mind and flexibility really helped keep the process going smoothly. ^_^ I truly appreciate it! ^___^

Her colors were orange dominant with hints of white and pink. And so for her bouquet, we put together orange bi-color "Circus" roses ("High and Mighty" are perfect substitute), "Mango" mini calla lilies, hot pink spray roses, white and orange freesia, and white heather. The bouquet really helped accentuate her subtle and beautifully laced gown. As for Nathan's boutonniere, we kept it simple by simply accenting a stem of "Mango" mini calla lily with white heather.

I had a lot of fun creating her ceremony arrangements. I wrapped the glass container with moss mat to make it more natural and the floral arrangement consisted of burnt orange alstroemerias, burnt orange asiatic lilies, orange tulips, "Circus" roses, pink heathers, white hydrangeas, green berzillias (one of my favorite plants ever!), and mixed fillers. The flowers were also repeated for the centerpieces (with exception of the asiatic lilies). All these lovely colors match very well against the classic interior of the Downtown Club.

Her cake topper was certainly one of the cutest things I have ever seen! it's bobblehead version of Jackie and Nate! TOO CUTE!! ^____^ I accented the cake with pink heathers and green berzillias (and WOW, Cindy, you blew me away with that close of of the flowers! Thank you!!) to add a bit more color. Isn't this cute??

On the day of, we had a blast working together with Christina Hill and cHill Weddings staff, Mary White and Jeremy from the Downtown Club and Cindy Guessford Photography. And...of course, one of our favorite bakers, John Natter from Ann's Cake Pan!

A Fun Green Wedding for Sharon and Jerry!

by 8/23/2010 4:14 PM

First of all, let me say this as a reminder... I HEART FRUITS in design. SO...when Sharon told me that her wedding colors were green and black, I was like... "LIMES!". When she said "Yes!", I said "YIPPEEE!!!" ^___^

I thought her color combination was one of the most fun I have ever had! I LOVE IT! I really had a blast doing this wedding. It was simple design but striking.

For Sharon's bouquet, we did all green as she requested. FUN, FUN, FUN! We combined spider mums, button mums, bells of ireland, hypericum berries, aralia leaves and lily grass accents. Jerry's boutonniere was one of the cutest things I've ever made! It had button mums, hypericum berries and pittosporum.

Since there were 3 different sizes of tables, we did 3 different designs. All very simple, all very DIY friendly.

For the cocktail tables (I think these were...36" rounds), we did a single short, clear, rectangular vase filled with sliced limes topped with a floating candle. We accented the vase with black ribbon. Isn't it cute?

For the high tops, 30" rounds, Sharon got these awesome black votive holders...I would like to say from Save on Crafts....Can't remember exactly where she got them from, but it looks very similar to the below picture (which I got from Save on Crafts website).

For the guest tables (60" rounds), we did a grouping of bells of ireland, spider mums and whole limes. Different heights, different textures and different shades of green! The arrangements sat on black table clothes. So they certainly popped! LOVE IT!
