My Sister's Wedding

by 9/14/2008 11:27 PM

I cannot believe it's been more than a month since I last wrote in this blog! Well, I do have a "good" excuse I suppose... October is my craziest and busiest month. ^_^; Anyhoo...before I wrote all the sphiel of October, let's start with a quick note from my youngest sister, Nana's wedding. It's a very small and intimate affair, just family. I did make her a bouquet and a matching boutonniere for Ivan, her husband.

We had our excellent dinner at Kittichai in New York City. It's a fusion Thai restaurant and I was so stuffed at the end of the night! ^_^ My favorites from this restaurant are "Coconut and Organic Chicken Relish with Crispy Jasmine Rice Crackers" and "Chocolate Baby Back Ribs with Thai Spices" - yummm yummm...

All photos are credited to the talented Tony Yang, and yes, he will travel to Philadelphia for ya. ^_^ He and Karina Djijo are definitely two of my very favorite photographers whom I admire and love to work together again.

Without further ado, here are the pics for you to enjoy! ^_^

Mini Photo Shoot at Cairnwood

by 9/1/2008 1:39 PM

Cairnwood Mansion is one of the most gorgeous locations I have ever seen. It lays on a huge complex that includes a cathedral and a museum. The buildings are so classic and grand, the landscaping is very well done. I simply love taking pictures of it.

This year I have the opportunity to do Megan's wedding there in October and so we went there to do site visit this past August.
Megan is the owner of Arista Events and I provided floral arrangements for one of her organized events (Concert Opera) in the past. Last year, Megan and her friend, Tiffany helped out with my annual photo shoot, so this year, I thought since Cairnwood is such a gorgeous place, might as well do a mini photo shoot. This year, besides Tiffany, she brought her cute niece, Sophia, too! That sweet little girl is such a natural model and so photogenic! ^_^

Thank you to Megan, Tiffany, and little Sophia for helping me out for the photoshoot! I had a lot of fun and hope you guys did too!

Megan's bouquet has roses, dried eucalyptus (painted blac), dried wheat, red glittered ting-ting.

Tiffany's bouquet consists of roses, spray roses, mountain mint and sage (the bouquet collar).
The lavender rose variety is called "Ocean Song" and it has such soft, pretty lavender color - I love it!
It is softer/paler than its cousin "Coolwater" variety.

Little Sophia's bouquet consists of roses, spray roses and salal tips.
